“Dear Carly
What a great day for you and the Charity. You certainly got your organisation spot on and it was great to see lots of young children having their faces painted etc. Anything connected with football is second nature to me so it was a pleasure to be able to help out on your day but all the plaudits should be thrown in your direction. Well done.
Best Wishes
Peter Shreeves”

Tottenham Legends Charity Match Vs DPCR - Sunday 1st August 2010
We have a great opportunity that involves playing football in a unique setting and something that you are likely to be able to do once in a lifetime. DPCR has organised a Match against Tottenham Legends 11 to play at Ware Town Football club, Herts on Sunday 1st August with a 2pm kick off. We need to organise a squad of 14/15 players that want to play against the likes of, Clive Wilson, Graemme Roberts, Steve Sedgley, Les Ferdinand, Darren Anderton, Teddy Sheringham, Gary Brooke, Mark Falco, Tony Galvin to name a few. You would represent DPCR (Development of Pancreatic Cancer Research) to support the charity in raising donations to help find an early detection plan for victims of Pancreatic Cancer. This is a deadly disease with little chance of survival once diagnosed and I have personally been affected by this after losing my father after just 6 weeks of diagnosis back in 2005.
Through our contacts we have been able to get the game heavily marketed a few weeks before it takes place. The game itself will be on Tottenham Hotspurs website, the Hotspur magazine and Ossie Ardiles will be promoting the match on Alan Brazil talksport a few weeks before the game. Our anticipated crowd will be between 1000-1200 spectators.
If you would like to be a part of the playing squad we are putting together you will need to raise a minimum of £300 to win a 90 minute shirt or £200 to win a 45 min shirt. On the day you will receive a full DPCR kit with your names on the back as souvenirs of your day. If you would like to set up a just giving page connected to the charity then please contact me and we can organise this for you. Of course any donations either personally or from companies would be amazing and if anyone is interested in sponsoring the event then please also contact me as photos of the day and a review of the match will feature on the Tottenham Hotspur official website for everyone to see..
For the families there are fete stalls, bouncy castles, food, entertainment, refreshments, face painting, clothes stalls etc to keep everyone entertained. Gates open at 12pm. There will be opportunities for photos with celebrities that arrive during the course of the day.
Please indicate whether you would like to be involved in either playing or just coming along to the day itself. Tickets are £5 adults and kids under 12 go free. Children above 12 and below 18 years of age is £2.
If you are interested please reply to the email by no later than Friday 25th June 2010.
